If ANY of my brothers, my sisters, my nieces, nephews, cousins, my husband's
family and/or ANY other family member (both near and far) aren't willing to vote, I
have something to tell you.  If ANY of my friends, close family friends, associates
etc, I have something for you too.  Yes, I have something for all of you who are
eligible to vote but not willing to, and that is SHAME! Shame on you for not
willing to help yourself, your children and other family members and friends.

Well, let me rephrase that:
  • Do not vote if you do not need healthcare or do not vote if you do not know
anyone that needs healthcare.  (Do not vote if you are not concerned about
others who do not have healthcare.)
  • Do not vote if you do not care about women's rights.  (Do not vote if you do
not have an employed sister, aunt, niece or female friend.)
  • Do not vote if you believe Barack Obama is a resemblance of Hitler.  (If you
do believe Barack Obama is a resemblance of Hitler, then there is no reason
    for you to vote.)
  • Do not vote if you wish to continue with the same tax breaks as former
President George Bush.  (If you do not need a tax break, then there is no
    reason for you to vote.)
  • Although the war continues in Afghanistan, do not vote if you want current
war to continue.  Moreover, definitely stay home if you desire our Country
to invade other Countries, which would ultimately create additional wars.
  • Do not vote if you don't care about Title 1 which has not only helped
minorities to receive education, but all Americans.

There are too many Republicans counting on you not to vote.
To Whom It May Concern at the Democratic Party and anyone who might be interested:

Are you going to actually read the surveys and take heed or waste time and money?  On a side note, the
only issue I have with Washington spending my money, is the bailout.  Yes I know, you said it had to be
done, but while one expert says its was necessary, another so-called expert reports that it was not.
Additionally, I am still fuming that the war remains in Afghanistan.
I wrote my disgust about that already,
so I'm sure you get the gist.

Nonetheless, you need to get up off your butts and do the hard work.  You know how you always tell
your constituents that you're working hard for your State and the Country?  Well, prove it!  Get up off
your butts and do it!  Do some work!

If you need some ideas, here is just one that I think might be beneficial so that some of The People will
feel engaged by you and yours.  Try this:

 Get yourself, your assistants, family members and
your most trusted volunteers and hit the pavement.
Hit it as if your job actually depended on it.  And it
does.  Hit as if your lifetime benefits depended on
it.  But it doesn't, but just pretend that it does.  Or
better yet, pretend that you care for The People.  Hit
as if you needed actual healthcare.  As if you needed
money to purchase food for your families.  As if you
needed money to keep a roof over your head.  Do it!
Hit that pavement and start having a real face to face
conversation with your constituents.  Talk to them
and not at them.  Ask them want they need.  And
although listening is very, very important, take heed.

Yep, that's the smartest thing I could come up with.  Brilliant huh?

Whether you are able or not able to deliver their needs, tell them.  Tell them the
What, Why, Whom
When
and Where:
  • Tell them What you have already done.
(They may already know, so remind them and perhaps some may have forgotten.)
  • Tell them What you are currently working on.
  • Tell them What you still have plans to do.
  • Tell them What types of problems you are having.
(Perhaps if you did, they will be more apt to listen…they might even console you!)
  • Tell them What is standing in your way.
  • Tell them What you would have to compromise.
  • Tell them Why you are unable to get it done.
  • Tell them Why you feel something is better or worse for the Nation.
  • Tell them Why is it important to vote.
(Over the years, I have encountered too many people who do not see the importance of voting.  I
was angry and blamed everyone in the world.  But, I had to remember that some people are not
  taught the importance of casting a ballot each and every time a candidate is running for office;
any office.  They don't know, or they don't care.  For those that don’t know, I blamed their parents,
and for those that do know but still refuse to participate, I blame the government.  They don't trust
you and honestly, some of them shouldn't.  However, the job rests on yours and the avid voter's
  shoulders.)
  • Tell them Who is standing in your way.
(Name your opponents as some of The People may feel that your opponents are their oppressors
and are keeping them from enjoying life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.  The avid voter knows
Chuck Grassley, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell and that weasel Eric Cantor.)
  • Tell them if any, When results can or should be expected.
(Currently, you don't supply details or engage yourself within the reach of The People, so how would they
  know?)
  • Tell them Where information can be obtained in dire situations.
  • Tell them Where to obtain voting information.
  • Tell them Where to vote.
  • Tell them Where to signup to volunteer?

And then ask them...
  • Ask What they would like to see in America or what they think is best for America.
  • Ask them What practicable thing you can do for them right away.
(It may be something as simple as providing information or $50.00 for gas for the week.  However, be
prepared to be asked the most impracticable.)

Some of The People actually have to have that one-on-one personal conversation.  Some of The People
actually need the
Where, Why, Whom and When, simplified.

You see, some of you -the President included - are out of
touch with The People.  Although some of you have lived
an ordinary citizen's life, you may have forgotten.  You
take vacations that most of The People will never be able
to afford.  Moreover, you may have forgotten what it's
like to rob from Peter just to pay Paul.  You may have
forgotten the feeling of having creditors breathing down
your backs - calling you day and night and night and day.
Or, forgotten what its like to decide what will take
precedence: food, the electricity bill, the water bill, or
medication.  You may have forgotten or do not know what it's
like to tell your children no and that there isn't any "extra money."  That there isn't any money left over
for luxuries.

Reach out to The People.  Tell them you will do your best to help while actually meaning what you say.
Do not lie to The People.  And certainly do not tell them what they want to hear, but tell them the truth.
No more lip service.

Yes, you use the television to send out messages, but some people may have missed it.  Perhaps they
were working or out seeking employment.  Or, they may not watch politics as much as the avid voter as
the majority of the news is sad and depressing.  Some may need a break and enjoy what little time they
have with their families.  And some, well some may not be able to afford the luxury of cable television.

Some people may have found the survey helpful, but what about those young college kids?  You know the
same ones President Obama mentioned on election night.  He said some people voted for the first time.

Well, all of you have to go back and repeat those exact same steps - reaching out to those first-time
voters.  Reach out to those who feel as though they wasted their time.  Reach out to those who voted for
President Barack Obama just because he's Black.

I said it.

All of you, must recapture the minority vote because
most of the people I know that support the Democrat
Party, is a minority.  Yes, I am aware that the Black
vote alone did not put Obama in the White House,
but they did come out in large numbers just to
support him.  As Obama noted that election night,
                                                                                some were
disabled, voting for the first time,
                                                                                young and old
…  All of you need that same type of
desire with fire burning in your guts...again!

Hit that pavement and talk to The People about their needs as well as their wants, which may or may not
include the following:
                                                                                 Jobs
(Some people know you are working to
decrease unemployment, but talk to them about their
situation.  Let them tell you how they are personally
                                                                                    affected.)
 Lower food and gas prices
                                                                                 Less taxes
                                                                                 Education
                                                                                 New programs
(Talk about any and all programs
they may not have heard about.)
 Information about foreclosures   (Not just what you
have done to lower the number of foreclosures, but
how you will personally assist them in keeping their
                                                                                    homes.)
 Homeownership - RESPONSIBLY  (Tell them
where they can receive information about saving their
money.  Where they can go to retrieve information
about honest lending institutions and honest first-time
home ownership programs that are not filled with
                                                                                    glitches and schemes.)
 Healthcare  (Most people know about the new
healthcare reform plan, but some are still scared or
not too easy with it.  Tell them why their insurance
premiums are higher and what you plan to do about it.)
                                                                                 Cost-of-living raise
                                                                                 Increase in minimum wage
                                                                                 Retirement
(They need to know how this affects
them personally, as some of them do not have a red
cent to live on.  They wonder how they will survive due
to no fault of their own.)
                                                                                 Insurance regulations
                                                                                 Social security benefits

Hit that pavement and recognize those individuals you are supposed to serve or those who you work for.
Let them know you earn every dime you receive.

You have been in your jobs long enough to know the difference between registered voters, active voters
and avid voters.  Registered voters are those who are just registered to vote.  They may or may not
participate each and every time, but just in case they feel a need, are engaged or truly excited, they just
might mail in that ballot or walk to their voting poll.  Active voters are those who vote the majority of the
time, but not all the time.  They are similar to the registered voter - voting when they deem it necessary.
They vote if and when they remember or feel up to it.  (A few times, I was surprised that some people had
not a clue it was time to vote.)  Avid voters are those that never miss a voting session, and if they have not
received their mail-in ballot, they are quick to call their voting office.  They are avid political news
watchers and have much disgust for those that just plain refuse to vote.  (I am tired of those non-voters
who wouldn't vote if their lives depended on it.  Those same non-voters who said, 'I wouldn’t vote if I
were running.')

I watched that night and saw many tearful supporters.  Tears of
joyful devotees who listened to and witnessed elected
President Barack Obama deliver this speech.  I assume that the
                                                                majority of them believed that he would be there with them;
down in the trenches.  But now, too many of them feel it was a
bunch of hype and feel let down.

Unfortunately, many viewed him as a God or a great religious
disciple who delivered great speeches - sent down from God
Himself - a Savior.  Recently, Obama said that the Republicans
believe we have amnesia.  Well, Obama was wrong, because some
of The People do have amnesia as they have forgotten the tax breaks.  Or, some say that it wasn't enough
and are requiring more - now - today.  They may have noticed some progress, but to some, its personal
and it's not enough.

Obama's reelection is not the only seat in dire
trouble and I am keenly aware that some of you are
upset with him.  Yes, I've heard some of the remarks
you have made, but you don't work for him, you work
for me and the rest of The People.  Additionally, the
Party is the only thing you have and you must stick
together for the sake of that Party and The People.
Some of you, must stop going against what is best
for The People and vote for The People at all times.
You did say you wanted to serve right?  Well do it!

Why am I making this big stink now?  Because the Republicans and  their Tea Party are vying for your
seats.  Why am I making this stink now?  Because some supposedly unbiased news commentators are
making excessively unfavorable comments about you.  I know everyone does something wrong, but its
getting worse and I fear that the reporters will go too far and turn some of your current supporters
against the Party.  I fear that they will assume that if their trusted news reporters are not backing you,
then they shouldn’t either.

It appears that amnesia is more contagious than ever.  However, I'll be there along with the other avid
voters; I just hope it's enough.  We will do it for ourselves because we are fully aware that the alternative
is not what America needs.  We will do our jobs while we continue to hope and pray that you do yours.

Alternatively, if you have a better plan to get The People to listen and ultimately vote for not just you but
for America, then do it.  If not, then get up off your ass and move!  Prepare yourselves and get ready to
get your walking shoes dirty.  Hit the pavement!

I am an avid voter, but please note that I am not going
to vote for you as I never have and never will.  I am an
avid voter who has and will always vote for me,
                                                                                myself and I.

Additionally, I am voting for my spouse, his family, my entire
extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles,  nieces and nephews
and close friends.  I am voting for The People.  But most
importantly, I am voting for my parents, R. B. and E. M. Smith
because if it weren't for them, I don't know if I would be a
registered voter let alone an avid one.

Some of The People need to know
The Democrats supports Peace
The Democrats supports Progress
The Democrats supports Prosperity
The Democrats supports Civil Rights
The Democrats supports Social Security
The Democrats supports The Environment
The Democrats supports Working Families
The Democrats supports Women Rights to Choose
The Democrats supports Decreased Unemployment
The Democrats supports and cares about The People

The Republicans supports War
The Republicans supports Deficits
The Republicans supports Big Oil
The Republicans supports Recession
The Republicans supports Less Gun Laws
The Republicans supports Tax Cuts for Millionaires
The Republicans supports and Care About THEMSELVES

Now Democrats, if you want to keep your seats, hit the pavement!  Talk to your constituents, NOW!!!

Sincerely,
The People

Democrats, it is time to get your feet dirty
Hit the pavement and actually talk face to face with The People
It’s the answer told by lines stretched around schools and churches.  In numbers this Nation
has never seen.  By people who waited three and four hours.  Many for the first time in their
lives because they believe that this time, it must be different.  That their voices will be that
difference.  It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican,
Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled.
Americans have sent a message to the world that we have never been just a collection of
individuals or a collection of red States and Blue States.  We are and always will be the United
States of America.  America, we have come so far, we have seen so much, but there is so much
more to do.  So tonight, let us ask ourselves - if our children should live to see the next
century.  If my daughters should be so lucky to live as long as Ann Nixon Cooper, what
changes will they see?  What progress would we have made?  This is our chance to answer
their question. This is our moment.  This is our time.  To put our people back to work.  To open
doors of opportunity. To restore prosperity.  To promote the cause of peace.  To reclaim the
American dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth that out of many, we are one.  That while
we breathe, we hope.  And where we are met with cynicism and doubt and those who tell us we
can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people, Yes we can.
Thank you.  God bless you.  And may God bless the United States of America.
This how your shoes and socks should look after the end of your days, weeks and months of talking to The People
I always vote, but my government is getting on my nerves!!!
If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream
of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.
It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen; by people who
waited three hours and four hours, many for the very first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be
different; that their voice could be that difference.
It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native
American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled - Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a
collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.
It's the answer that led those who have been told for so long by so many to be cynical, and fearful, and doubtful of what we can
achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.
It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change
has come to America…
…I was never the likeliest candidate for this office. We didn't start with much money or many endorsements. Our campaign
was not hatched in the halls of Washington - it began in the backyards of Des Moines and the living rooms of Concord and the
front porches of Charleston.
It was built by working men and women who dug into what little savings they had to give five dollars and ten dollars and twenty
dollars to this cause. It grew strength from the young people who rejected the myth of their generation's apathy; who left their
homes and their families for jobs that offered little pay and less sleep; from the not-so-young people who braved the bitter cold
and scorching heat to knock on the doors of perfect strangers; from the millions of Americans who volunteered, and organized,
and proved that more than two centuries later, a government of the people, by the people and for the people has not perished
from this Earth. This is your victory….
…The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America - I
have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you - we as a people will get there.
There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as President, and
we know that government can't solve every problem. But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will
listen to you, especially when we disagree. And above all, I will ask you to join in the work of remaking this nation the only way
it's been done in America for two-hundred and twenty-one years - block by block, brick by brick, callused hand by callused
hand…
…Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics
for so long. Let us remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the Republican Party to the
White House - a party founded on the values of self-reliance, individual liberty, and national unity. Those are values we all
share, and while the Democratic Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination
to heal the divides that have held back our progress….And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn - I may not have
won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President too.
And to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from parliaments and palaces to those who are huddled around
radios in the forgotten corners of our world - our stories are singular, but our destiny is shared, and a new dawn of American
leadership is at hand. To those who would tear this world down - we will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security - we
support you. And to all those who have wondered if America's beacon still burns as bright - tonight we proved once more that
the true strength of our nation comes not from the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power
of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity, and unyielding hope.
For that is the true genius of America - that America can change. Our union can be perfected. And what we have already
achieved gives us hope for what we can and must achieve tomorrow …
…America, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there is so much more to do. So tonight, let us ask ourselves - if
our children should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live as long as Ann Nixon Cooper, what
change will they see? What progress will we have made?
This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time - to put our people back to work and open doors of
opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm
that fundamental truth - that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism,
and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:
Yes We Can.
Change Has Come to America
Election Night Victory Speech
Chicago, Illinois
November 4, 2008
My family and I cannot support
Michael Bennett after he left Denver
Public Schools' pension in a mess!
What are we supposed to retire on?
HOW will we survive? How can we
throw our vote away for him?
We just cannot support that.
I still STRONGLY disagree with
President Obama choosing Michael
Bennett over Andrew Romanoff. What
a mess!  Therefore, we will NOT
support Michael Bennett.
Not now, not ever!
This how your shoes and socks should look after the end of your days, weeks and months of talking to The People
The deadline to mail in your ballot is, Friday, October 29, 2010

Just thirteen (13) days to the mid-term elections
