Severed Relationship Published Wednesday, July 8, 2009 I use to have Kaiser as my healthcare provider. While in their system I was allowed to have a pick of their litter of doctors but each time I found one I liked, they would leave and then I would ultimately be forced to select another. I went through several doctors and each time, I was left with a pool to select another, then another, and yet another. It was tough... Continued
Who's To Blame For Another School Shooting? Published in 2009 I shamefully admit that I might be just as sick and/or mentally ill as the monsters that have killed innocent people. I have never been declared insane however, and have never had a sanity test, but after this past weekend, perhaps I need to consider having one or a lobotomy. When Duane Morrison went into a Colorado High School, took several children hostage, killed one and then later, killed himself... Continued
Our united states government officials Will Pass… Published Thursday, July 23, 2009 I give no one a pass. I don’t care the color of your skin or the position you may have, you will NEVER receive a pass or any excuses for your actions from me. NEVER! Not now, not ever! President Barack Obama made a statement about Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Mr. Gates’ arrest. I’ve heard some say that Obama was in error when he said the cops acted "stupidity." I’ve heard from both Blacks and whites that Obama should have declined to answer the question. Me? What do I say? I say he answered the question and now so what? I don’t care! So what? Everyone says many things that maybe they not ought to have said, but they’re still living; it’s life. I don’t care, because it’s not an important issue that I wish to address right now. I care that Barack Obama reminded... Continued...
Alternatively Published Monday, July 27, 2009 I was wrong. Yes, I was wrong to say racism was not important at the time. It IS important at all times. Honestly, if not now, when? At the time, I wrote that it wasn’t important, I felt that the media and some of the american public were feeding so much into what Barack Obama said about the police in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I said it because I felt that too many people were deviating away from the issue of healthcare; a problem that haunts too many americans; both Black and white. I said it because …now hold on. At first, I was not sure of my stance between the prominent Black scholar, Henry Louis Gates Jr. and arresting officer, Sgt. James Crowley. I waited to give my perspective until I heard more of the story. Often times, we need to learn to keep our opinions to ourselves, as we must not miss a good opportunity... Continued...
| The Democrats Get A Swift Kick... Published Wednesday, November 4, 2009 Okay now, I asked myself what happened yesterday and I came up with a bunch of reasons/excuses and after reading the article and listening to the news people, I have to say, I honestly don't know. I was listening to the morning show and had a hard time believing my ears when one of them said it was because not enough Black people voted. It is so obvious that this article proves what the morning show said. They said that Blacks no longer felt engaged by Obama as if he no longer speaks for and/or directly to them. I found that unbelievable as first of all, it wasn’t the Black vote that got Obama into the white house in the first place. BUT (a BIG BUT) if that were the case – if Blacks actually felt ... | The War on Terror Published January 2010 I salute our soldiers. When the planes hit the towers, I was asleep. At that time, we were avid Unfair Fowl News watchers, so while I’m sleeping, my spouse would turn on the television and when I awake, I watch whatever is on the news. On the morning of September 11, 2001, I opened my eyes. I see what I believe is a coming attraction of serious action movie. It is only seconds when I learn that what I’m viewing is an attack on the Country in which I live. The news report says... Continued... |
Barack Obama Published Sunday, January 10, 2010 I am hard on our politicians because supposedly, they work for me. I say supposedly because some of those simpletons do not work at all. Anyway, I am hard on them without ever considering race or gender. I do not discriminate. If you’re wrong, you’re wrong. Some Black African Americans voted for Barack Obama because he’s Black. Oh what a mistake. I did not. I voted for Obama because he was the only viable person on the ticket. I’m an avid voter. It is always a mistake... Continued...
Black Men Always Have To Work Harder Published February 2010 …as my Dad used to say, “That’s just how it is.” I have not been watching the news as much as I did before due to prior promises made to family and friends. However, I have been listening and what I’ve been hearing lately from The Ed [Schultz] Show, Hardball with Chris Matthews and Countdown’s Keith Olbermann, is forcing me to take note of some of the comments. Some of the commentators and journalist show recent videos of Barack Obama speaking at rallies... Continued...
Roland Martin says…"Time for Obama to go gangsta" Published Wednesday, February 10, 2010 I have been an avid voter for the past 22-plus years. Originally, I was not an Obama supporter nor was I rooting for Hillary, however since Obama was the ONLY viable candidate, I gladly cast my vote [for him.] I am an avid voter because my parents couldn’t wait until I reached voting age to force me towards registration. Although I continued to vote no matter whom the candidate was, it wasn’t until years later that I finally got what they were trying to instill me. My parents have since past on from this life, but would be so upset with me... Continued...
Tavis Smiley vs. Al Sharpton Published Wednesday, February 24, 2010 With the beef between Tavis Smiley and Al Sharpton, it only proves that Blacks will never stop fighting one another. It's just another example of, ‘I’m better than you and I will do whatever it takes to remove or overpower you at all costs.’ I used to appreciate both of these Black men, but... Continued...
Evan Bayh Published Monday, February 22, 2010 I’ve tried to figure out why Evan Bayh is retiring from his senate seat. Hmmm. Yes I’ve heard his sorry excuse as to why he’s leaving, but I’m not... Continued...
Health Care Summit, 2010 Published Friday, February 26, 2010 Yesterday, I missed the entire 7-hour Healthcare Summit with the President and members of Congress but luckily, I was able to catch tidbits on Hardball with Chris Matthews. On the part or parts I did see, I didn’t need to take notes as I will never forget but was reminded... Continued...
Keeba's Health Care Reform Plan Published Friday, February 26, 2010 Just like most Politicians, Community Leaders and Activists, I am so egotistical, that I felt I could write a healthcare reform bill better than any Democrat or Republican. Here’s mine... Continued...
BREAKING NEWS – THIS JUST IN: President Barack Obama replaces Rahm Emanuel with Michael Moore Published Saturday, March 6, 2010 Dear President Obama, I understand you may be looking to replace Rahm Emanuel as your chief of staff. I would like to humbly offer myself, yours truly, as his replacement. I will come to D.C. and clean up the mess that's been created around you. I will work for $1 a year. I will help the Dems on Capitol Hill find their spines and I will teach them how to nonviolently beat the Republicans to a pulp. And I will help you get done what the American people sent you there to do. I don't need much, just a cot in the White House basement will do. Now, don't get too giddy with excitement over my offer, because you and I are going to be up at 5 in the morning, 7 days a week and I am going to get you pumped up for battle every single day (see photo). Each morning you and I will do 100 jumping jacks and you will repeat after me: "THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ELECTED ME, NOT THE REPUBLICANS, TO RUN THE COUNTRY! I AM IN CHARGE! I WILL ORDER ALL OBSTRUCTIONISTS OUTTA MY WAY! IF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DON'T LIKE WHAT I'M DOING THEY CAN THROW MY ASS OUT IN 2012. IN THE MEANTIME, I CALL THE SHOTS ON THEIR BEHALF! NOW, CONGRESS, DROP AND GIVE ME 50!!" Then we will put on our jogging sweats and run up to Capitol Hill. We will take names, kick butts, and then take some more names. If we have to give a few noogies or half-nelson's, then so be it. In our pockets we will... Continued...
Open Letter to the President regarding Health Care Reform Published Monday, March 8, 2010 President Barack Obama I heard you. I heard you several times that you want health care for every single American. I’ve heard you! America has heard you, now do us a favor and do something about it. If you have the votes, then pass the Health Care Reform Bill through reconciliation, if you do not have the votes, then move on to more pressing issues. Look, I voted for you. Well, actually, I didn’t vote for you, but instead, voted for ... Continued...
| Health Care Reform Has FINALLY Passed Published Sunday, March 21, 2010 Today, Health Care Reform passed and in my mind, in favor of the American people. Today, Sunday, March 21, 2010, every American will have access to affordable health care and in my opinion, is exactly what they should have. All Americans deserve it, as it is a right of the American people. After today, I will cease my abhorrence for John Boehner and Mitch McConnell when they deprecate President Obama and those Democrats that supported the Health Care Reform Bill. Okay, I was ... | Tax Day - 2010 Published Thursday, April 15, 2010 Taxes have and always will benefit our government. That’s why it’s there; there’s no escaping it. Consequently, I have always hated it and chances are, I always will. Other than going to jail, what can I do about it? Absolutely nothing. As the old adage goes, two things are always a constant: death and taxes - no one can escape neither. It seems with every tax day, several idiots with a microphone jumps up and yell about increased taxes. As if all the commotion is going to change anything. Of course, I respect anyone for making their voice heard, but this year of tax day screamers are out of their stupid minds. Yep, it’s the tea badgers; again! And yes, they want to blame... | Measure (Measuring) The Movement Created Saturday, April 17, 2010 - Posted Sunday, April 18 Measuring the Movement was a 2-hour special regarding the Black community and its needs. Promoted by Al Sharpton and hosted by Roland Martin and Tom Joyner. It was a very interesting program and should be viewed and discussed among all races. I watched the two hour special of Al Sharpton’s “Measuring The Movement” conference on TV One. Held at the First Corinthian Baptist Church in New York City. Although it was two hours long, I have to agree with radio host, Tom Joyner, it was not long enough. Those on the panel made some interesting comments and seemed alert and eager. And although I was intrigued the entire time, I could not help but wonder ... Continued... |
Education - What's The Problem? Created Monday, May 3, 2010 - Posted Saturday, May 22 I have been trying to figure out this education thing for many years, but when the mass firing of teachers in Rhode Island came along, I became more intrigued. What is the problem? What was the problem at Central Falls High School in Rhode Island that the superintendent felt justified in firing 93 people – which included 77 teachers, the principal, 3 assistant principals, guidance counselors and reading specialists? School officials yet say that of the 800 students at Central Falls High School in Rhode Island, half the students are failing every subject, with 55 percent skilled in reading and 7 percent proficient in math. Okay, that’s a huge problem! But in general, what is the problem with our schools around the Country – in each State? WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? What is the problem? I have posed this question to several family members, friends and associates and I have received a variety of answers. I posed the question because as long as I can remember, our government has always emphasized how important education is, yet it seems as though each administration fails to make it better. Or better yet, to prove to at least me, that they are doing something to improve our education system. What is the problem? Why hasn’t our government done more? What is the problem? I was born in the 60’s but I could swear that I read where our government said it was on the problematic... Continued...
Obama Is Wrong Created Thursday, July 1,2010 While Obama – in my opinion – has made mistakes with the bailout, overall I believe he is doing a good job. I believe he’s a smart man; at least he has more intelligence than I do. However, also in my humble opinion, he was not so insightful when General Stanley A. McChrystal felt a need to complain to Rolling Stones about the pentagon’s bureaucracy. I do not know if Obama... Continued...
Democrats, Get Up Posted Friday, September 17, 2010 Nonetheless, you need to get up off your butts and do the hard work. You know how you always tell your constituents that you're working hard for your State and the Country? Well, prove it! Get up off your butts and do it! Do some work! If you need some ideas, I have at least one idea that I think might work and all you have to do is… Continued...
Tyler Perry vs. Spike Lee Posted Thursday, April 20, 2011 I honestly believe in my heart of hearts that Spike Lee is jealous of Tyler Perry and his success and it is sad that we will not support the achievements of our own Black brothers and sisters. The memories of my relatives – both past and present – are noteworthy. We’ve had great times and we’ve had some treacherous struggles. Some of us are loud, emotional and overly dramatic, but I’m sentimental... Continued...
